Hello, everyone! My name is Amanda Harris and this is my second year teaching at Tokyo Korean School. I am really excited for this school year. I think it’s going to be amazing!
I was born in Birmingham, England and raised in sunny Palm Beach, Florida (sadly I do not have a cute British accent). My favorite color is purple and I usually eat at least one banana a day. I really like bananas. In fact, 'BANANA' is my favorite word. I enjoy reading books and drawing cute chibi/anime characters. Zombies are the most awesome monsters in the world.
I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education.
After I graduated, I taught English in Sendai, Nagamachi for a year in 2011-2012. A couple of years later, I decided to travel back to Asia. So, I taught English at an elementary school in Seoul, Korea for four years. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I went home, but I really missed teaching overseas. So, I came back to Japan in March of 2020.
After I accepted an offered job from Tokyo Korean School, I began to do some research. I was so surprised to learn that the students learn in three different languages. I struggle with studying one language! The students are amazing and so brilliant. I think that this job is a unique opportunity with unique students. I feel so honored and privileged to have the opportunity to teach your children.

Best Regards,
Ms. Mandy Harris
